George Skelton is a well respected and popular  Northumbrian Artist.

George spent four years studying art at Sunderland Art College specializing in graphic design with a particular interest in illustration. He then went on to gain his A.T.D. (Art Teachers Diploma) at Liverpool and upon retiring from teaching has become a successful full time artist.

George has always painted and works in both watercolour and acrylics, producing mainly landscape paintings influenced by the tremendous wealth of local inspiration. These vary from the stark moorland scenes to the tumbling waters and the lush vegetation of the Northumbrian valleys.

His paintings reflect the constent beauty of the ever changing seasons.

George takes part in a number of local exhibitions, the dates and other information regarding the exhibitions can be seen on the News Page  


Over the years his work has been enjoyed and collected by people throughout the UK and abroad. Due to demand for his original paintings he now also has a range of limited edition prints of local scenes which are available from the online shop.
